UNHCR: In its fourth year, Sudan conflict drives new displacement into Chad as funding falls short
More than 55,000 Sudanese refugees have fled to eastern Chad so far this year, as continued fighting and worsening insecurity in Darfur, the Kordofans and other parts of Sudan force more families to seek safety across the border. Since the conflict began in April 2023, almost 1 million refugees have crossed into Chad.
