Ahead of the Summit of the Future, the Platform of Independent Experts on Refugee Rights (PIERR), a group of UN and regional human rights experts issued the following statement:
“When world leaders gather at the United Nations Summit, they aim to adopt a Pact for the Future, along with a Global Digital Compact and a Declaration for Future Generations. Despite progress, more to be done on unlocking power of refugee education
Five years on from the launch of UNHCR’s Refugee Education Strategy 2030, this year’s refugee education report reveals that while remarkable progress has been achieved in global refugee education and enrolment, significant challenges remain, with nearly half of the world’s 14.8 million school-aged refugee children still out of school.
