UNHCR, IOM and partners appeal for US$1.72 billion for refugees and migrants from Venezuela

The Regional Inter-Agency Coordination Platform for Refugees and Migrants from Venezuela (R4V), co-led by UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), is today launching a US$1.72 billion regional plan to support the ongoing needs of refugees and migrants from Venezuela throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.

Solange Ingabire, 22, writes to her Mom, who raised her in Kiziba refugee camp, Rwanda, after fleeing the threat of violence in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in 1996. Solange was born four years later in the camp. Now a student in Costa Rica, she recalls the incredible influence her mother has had on her, championing education despite not having had the opportunity to study herself.
