Freudenberg’s support means help for refugees landing in Lesvos, Greece, the island landing point for up to 5,000 people daily. With Freudenberg’s and other partners’ gifts, UNHCR has winterized existing shelters and reception facilities. We have also assembled large, tent-like structures called Rub halls, which are equipped with heaters. Refugees receive warm blankets, winter clothing and footwear, as well as other basic necessities before continuing their difficult journey.
