Stand Up for Refugees is back this Ramadan and it will be funnier than ever! Straight from your living room, we’re bringing you the gift of laughter to get you through these unprecedented times. With an even bigger line-up than last year of the world’s funniest people, we guarantee you’ll be rolling on the floor laughing for a good cause. Join us for an evening of heart and humour!
The Line-Up
This year, some of the funniest people on the planet will be joining us live via Zoom to give you an evening of laughter that you won’t forget! You may recognize them from The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Netflix, Just for Laughs, CBC, and the Voice; but on May 16th they will be delivering laughs right in your own home. Get ready to be laughing all night with this line-up of amazing comedians.
Featuring Mo Amer
Mo Amer is an American stand-up comedian and writer of Palestinian descent. He is best known for his Netflix comedy special The Vagabond and, most recently, his role on Hulu’s web television series, Ramy. He has also made special appearances on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, and more.

Joze Piranian is a TEDx Speaker, Seasoned Stutterer and veteran Stand-up Comedian who has performed on three continents and in three languages. He has been featured on CBC’s Laugh out Loud among other notable appearances, and when he’s not performing, Joze is a motivational speaker who speaks in six languages.

Ali Hassan is the host of Laugh Out Loud on CBC Radio, a touring stand-up comedian and actor. You can see Ali right now in the films My Spy, Mafia, Inc. and Tammy’s Always Dying.
Nour Hadidi
Nour is a Jordanian-born and Toronto-based stand up comedian and TV writer. She has a half hour special with Comedy Central Arabia in Dubai and has made multiple appearances at the Just for Laughs festival in Montreal including the Kevin Hart LOL Network and Tiffany Haddish Gala. Nour is a regular on CBC’s The Debaters and has written for TV shows This Hour has 22 Minutes and The Beaverton.
Hisham Kelati
Hisham Kelati is a stand-up comedian and comedy writer from Toronto, known for his vivid and engaging storytelling. He’s written sketches for CBC’s TallBoyz, was featured on CBC LOL, performed on Just for Laughs, Accent in Toronto and JFL42, and has opened for comics like K. Trevor Wilson, Azhar Usman, and Chris Redd.
Nataly Aukar
Nataly Aukar is a Lebanese born and raised stand-up comic based in New York City who is no stranger to performing for throngs of comedy festival enthusiasts. She has performed as the opening act for numerous notable comedians, most recently Mo Amer. Nataly previously toured through the UK, Canada and the UAE as a featured act in famous comedian, Gad El Maleh’s world tour.
Salma Hindi
Salma has opened for Maz Jobrani, Ken Jeong and performed at a variety of comedy festivals including JFL NorthWest. Salma has been featured on the CBC, Globe and Mail, CityNews, Refinery29 and more. She recently did a taping for CBC Gem’s “New Wave of StandUp” that will be out at the end of May.
And Malyka
Malyka, formerly known as Malak Sound, is an Egyptian-Canadian fusion pop singer who has toured across Canada and the Middle East. She appeared as a contestant on The Voice Middle East and has opened for several well-known music names such as P!nk. Malyka is also a seasoned performer in the Canadian music festival scene.
