Ces nouveaux syst\u00e8mes am\u00e9liorent l\u2019approvisionnement quotidien en eau potable pour les r\u00e9fugi\u00e9s rohingyas vivant dans les sites surpeupl\u00e9s au sud-est du Bangladesh.<\/p>\n<p>Ce projet, financ\u00e9 par le HCR, s\u2019inscrit dans le cadre d\u2019une \u00e9volution plus large de l\u2019action humanitaire vers une utilisation accrue des \u00e9co-technologies non polluantes.<\/p>\n<p>Les nouveaux syst\u00e8mes d\u2019eau potable fonctionnent enti\u00e8rement \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 produite par des panneaux solaires. Des pompes motoris\u00e9es puisent l\u2019eau chlor\u00e9e dans des r\u00e9servoirs de 70 000 litres r\u00e9cemment install\u00e9s. L\u2019eau est ensuite achemin\u00e9e par des canalisations vers des robinets collectifs install\u00e9s \u00e0 travers tout le site de Kutupalong-Balukhali. L\u2019objectif du HCR est de fournir quotidiennement 20 litres d\u2019eau potable \u00e0 chaque r\u00e9fugi\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Plus de 900 000 r\u00e9fugi\u00e9s rohingyas vivent dans 36 lieux diff\u00e9rents de la r\u00e9gion de Cox\u2019s Bazar. L\u2019eau y est plut\u00f4t rare. Pendant la saison s\u00e8che, sur le site de Nayapara par exemple, la seule solution est d\u2019acheminer l\u2019eau par camion, ce qui est tr\u00e8s co\u00fbteux. Il est difficile d\u2019assurer des sources d\u2019eau en nombre suffisant pour l\u2019ensemble de la population r\u00e9fugi\u00e9e &#8211; dont la plupart ont fui au Bangladesh \u00e0 la fin 2017.\u00a0 C\u2019est pourquoi le HCR et ses partenaires ont intensifi\u00e9 leurs efforts tout au long de l\u2019ann\u00e9e 2018 pour r\u00e9pondre aux besoins massifs en eau et en syst\u00e8mes d\u2019assainissement.<\/p>\n<p>Le recours \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9nergie solaire a permis \u00e0 la communaut\u00e9 humanitaire de r\u00e9duire les co\u00fbts \u00e9nerg\u00e9tiques et les \u00e9missions de CO2. La chloration permet de sauver des vies dans des sites de r\u00e9fugi\u00e9s de cette ampleur. Des tests r\u00e9cents ont r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 que la majeure partie de la contamination de l\u2019eau potable se produit pendant la collecte, le transport et le stockage chez les m\u00e9nages.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019eau chlor\u00e9e est potable et \u00e9limine les risques de propagation des maladies. Les sources d\u2019eau utilis\u00e9es pr\u00e9c\u00e9demment, principalement depuis des forages \u00e9quip\u00e9s de pompes manuelles, \u00e9taient souvent fortement contamin\u00e9es par les eaux us\u00e9es qui s\u2019infiltraient dans les puits.<\/p>\n<p>Les cinq nouveaux r\u00e9seaux d\u2019adduction d\u2019eau &#8211; achev\u00e9s conjointement par le HCR, MSF, OXFAM et BRAC &#8211; fournissent actuellement de l\u2019eau potable \u00e0 plus de 40 000 r\u00e9fugi\u00e9s. Pour que 55 000 r\u00e9fugi\u00e9s suppl\u00e9mentaires puissent en b\u00e9n\u00e9ficier, le HCR et les agences partenaires esp\u00e8rent installer neuf autres r\u00e9seaux d\u2019approvisionnement en eau aliment\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9nergie solaire dans le camp de r\u00e9fugi\u00e9s de Kutapalong en 2019, pour un co\u00fbt de 10 millions de dollars.<\/p>\n<p>Dans tous les sites surpeupl\u00e9s, les efforts d\u00e9ploy\u00e9s pour fournir suffisamment d\u2019eau potable aux r\u00e9fugi\u00e9s ont repr\u00e9sent\u00e9 un d\u00e9fi \u00e9norme, n\u00e9cessitant le forage de milliers de puits tubulaires profonds et la construction de r\u00e9seaux d\u2019eau, y compris l\u2019installation de conduites, barrages, canaux, m\u00e9canismes de filtrage et syst\u00e8mes de chloration (purification de l\u2019eau par adjonction de chlore).<\/p>\n<p>En 2018, le HCR a intensifi\u00e9 ses efforts pour la distribution d\u2019eau et les syst\u00e8mes d\u2019assainissement en investissant dans des technologies \u00e9cologiques qui permettent d\u2019\u00e9conomiser l\u2019\u00e9nergie et de r\u00e9duire la pollution. Le HCR a \u00e9galement renforc\u00e9 son \u00e9quipe \u00e0 Cox\u2019s Bazar, faisant appel \u00e0 un plus grand nombre d\u2019experts et de nouveaux partenaires pour construire des barrages dans les cours d\u2019eau, afin de cr\u00e9er des r\u00e9servoirs d\u2019eau depuis lesquels sera produite de l\u2019eau potable propre et chlor\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<p>Le HCR travaille en \u00e9troite collaboration avec le gouvernement du Bangladesh pour identifier des sources d\u2019eau. Les autorit\u00e9s ont \u00e9galement fourni des conseils d\u2019experts et des autorisations pour creuser des puits tubulaires et construire d\u2019autres structures telles que des r\u00e9servoirs d\u2019eau, des stations de traitement d\u2019eau, des canalisations, des r\u00e9servoirs de stockage d\u2019eau, des syst\u00e8mes de chloration et des forages \u00e9quip\u00e9s de pompes \u00e0
