South Sudan Emergency

Home » Where We Work » South Sudan

Spiraling violence, conflict and a severe food shortage have endangered millions of lives in South Sudan.

Engulfed by a civil war that has displaced more than 2.7 million people since December 2013, South Sudan now faces looming life-threatening food shortages. Millions more are at risk of malnutrition, but on-going clashes between militant groups, along with heavy rains, have hampered the delivery of emergency aid.

The humanitarian catastrophe is fueling a refugee exodus into neighboring countries. Families have been torn apart. Frightened children are on their own and many refugees are arriving to our camps malnourished, sick and traumatized.
