How to get involved in Canada
Helping refugees starts at home
Refugees anywhere in the world are people like each of us. They live in a community of friends, family and social groups. Frequently, it is the strength of their community that allows them to survive. This page contains suggestions on how you can enlist your community—friends, family, colleagues and others—to raise funds to support UNHCR’s work with refugees and other displaced people.

UNHCR Statelessness Event at International Development Research Centre (IDRC)
UNHCR Representation in Canada will launch at a roundtable at the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) on 14 June 2012 the updated version of the discussion paper entitled Statelessness in the Canadian Context. The report is intended to make a contribution to global policy and practice relating to statelessness issues, and provides an overview of key developments in statelessness issues since its first publication in 2003. Commissioned by UNHCR, the discussion paper examines the current state of Canadian law, policy and practice with respect to statelessness, in the context of international law in this area.
